About Munsey Log Homes

The Munsey family began its fascination with log homes in the early '60's and progressed into doing restorations of the old historic log structures in East Tennessee. As the supply of antique log structures and related materials became harder and harder to obtain, the Munsey's experimented with using new materials and processing them with the old tools and methods used to fashion timbers hundreds of years ago. As the demands increased for these unique materials and structures, the Munsey family founded what is now a nationally known log home company, and started producing 6x12 hand hewn, dovetail notched, chinked log homes for the general public.

After running the company for several decades, the Munsey family decided to pursue other interests and sold the company. As time passed, it became apparent that the love for log homes still existed and after being approached by several friends and past business acquaintances, Tim Munsey decided to return to the business that he loved. Thus Munsey Log Homes, Inc. was started in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains.
